Condition diagnosed:

Multiple Lipomas

Treatment:

Minimally Invasive Lipoma Removal Surgery

An Overview of the Case:

A lipoma is a fatty tissue lump those forms just beneath the skin’s surface. When you touch a lipoma, it moves freely and feels rubbery, not rigid. Lipomas rarely need treatment because they rarely cause pain or health issues.

Unless a lipoma is bothering you, it is typically not necessary to treat it. Nonetheless, your doctor would advise that you have regular check-ups to ensure that the lump does not grow or change in any way. Your doctor may recommend that you get the lipoma removed if it is troubling you, making you uncomfortable, or if it is expanding.

Surgery is the only treatment that will eliminate lipoma completely. If you decide to have the lipoma removed, you should do so while it is still small since the larger the lipoma becomes, the more difficult it is to remove. Before surgery, a local anaesthetic is usually used to numb the area, while larger lipomas may necessitate general anaesthesia via minimal invasive removal.

Liposuction may be recommended as an alternative to lipoma surgery to eliminate the lipoma. In this process, the lump is extracted through a needle and into a big syringe.
