ii. Procedure
Eyelid surgery in Hyderabad is an outpatient procedure generally done under local anesthesia.
If you are having the procedure for upper and lower eyelids, then most probably, our expert plastic surgeon in Hyderabad, Dr.Harikiran Chekuri, will address your upper eyelid first. They will remove the muscle, skin, and sometimes fat through the tiny incision. Before suturing the cut, our surgeon may move some tissues to the areas around the eye.
The lower eyelid procedure generally involves removing the fat that causes the undereye bags. If necessary, our surgeon may remove some skin also.
The lower eyelid surgery is performed either through the incision underneath the outside or inside of the lower eyelashes. The cut inside the eyelid won’t be visible, whereas the incision along the eyelash margin will fade off within a short period.
iii. Recovery
After the procedure, we will shift you to the recovery room to monitor you for side effects. You can go home the same day unless there are some complications.
It is necessary to rest for some days after eyelid surgery. There may be some swelling and discomfort, for which the surgeon will prescribe pain relievers and ask you to apply cold packs for a few days. You will have to keep the area clean by washing it gently.
The symptoms will go away within a couple of weeks. You should contact your doctor if you experience sensitivity to light or blurry vision for more than two days.
Contact lenses are not allowed for two weeks. You will have to visit the clinic for a follow-up after a few days.
