An Overview Of The Case
Mr. Raghu Babu, a 36-year male patient, came to our state-of-the-art Redefine Plastic Surgery & Hair Transplant Centre with a painless lump on his back that was easily moving under the skin. The patient also complained of difficulty in hand movement and numbness.
After a complete examination, the highly-skilled plastic surgeon Dr. Harikiran Chekuri, recommended ultrasound & FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology).
The FNAC of the affected area revealed the growth of mature fat cells suggesting lipoma. Dr. Harikiran briefed the patient about the condition. Diagnosis
Pre-operative imaging examinations revealed an enclosed mass ofmature fat cells suggestive of lipoma.
Treatment – Invasive Lipoma Removal Surgery
After administering the required anesthetics, Dr. Chekuri made an incision on the skin above the lipoma and meticulously dissected away fatty tissue. He combined the dissection with the “press and squeeze” technique.
After completely removing the lipoma, he carefully closed the incision with dissolving sutures.
Post Treatment Guidelines
Mr. Babu was advised to avoid any intense activity or exercise until the surgical wound had healed. He was also advised to keep the surgery area dry until the wound had scabbed entirely.
Post-Operative Assessment
Mr. Raju Babu’s surgery wound had healed on his follow-up 2 weeks after the procedure. The numbness had disappeared, and he had regained complete movement in his hands.
